Game Preview
UW-Stout will travel to UW-Whitewater for the “Black out” game under the lights. D3football.Com ranked Whitewater 9th in the nation and UW-Stout 20th. Ranked conference matchup under the lights in the WIAC couldn’t get any better than this.
1st Half:
UW-Whitwater ends the 1st half up 3-0 vs UW-Stout.
Slow Game for both teams, Whitewater holds the rushing yards lead while Stout has a very passing minded attack. Stout QB Adam Moen had a big 30 yard run during the middle of the second Quarter leading to a BLOCKED field Goal try to even the score up. Stout ends the half with 14 rushing yards following multiple sacks and tackles for loss. Whitewaters defense has came to play and the outside the numbers tackling has been impressive. Whitewater has made it obvious there plan is to run it down Stouts throat. They’ve mixed QB runs and standard power running plays well. Outside of the mistake at the end of the half from QB Justin Klinke, Whitewater has played a strong defensive game, while running the ball well.
Final: 34-2
My Takeaway:
Whitewaters defense was something special tonight. All over UW-Stout QB Adam Moen in the back field. Tremendous open field tackling. Now let’s get to the offense. Smash mouth mid western football, who doesn’t love it. Brian Stanton carried the load and had a huge day, but let’s not forget Ty Schulz 75 yard touchdown to open the 4th quarter. UW-Scout had no answers for the whitewater run game, while having no great game plan for Whitewaters defense. Shout out to UW-Whitewater DB Devin Magli, he has back to back weeks with a INT. Whitewater out gained Stout on the ground with 268 Rushing yards to 1. Crazy game. Great win for the Warhawks.
Whitewater once again showing its dominance. What a win vs a top 20 opponent. Bully ball and great defense at every level. Just wanna thank Whitewater for allowing me to cover this.
