Ohio State Athletics announced Monday a landmark partnership with JPMorganChase, naming the financial institution the Buckeyes’ official banking partner while introducing the first jersey patch sponsorship across all 36 varsity sports.

The agreement marks JPMorganChase’s first major investment in college athletics and underscores the rapidly evolving business landscape surrounding collegiate sports. While financial terms were not disclosed, the partnership is expected to rank among the most significant corporate agreements in college athletics.

Beginning with the 2026-27 athletic season, Ohio State student-athletes will wear a JPMorganChase jersey patch across every varsity program. The partnership extends beyond branding, with both organizations emphasizing financial education, career development, and expanded name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities for Buckeye student-athletes.

“Today’s announcement is about far more than a logo on a jersey,” Ohio State Director of Athletics Ross Bjork said. “This partnership provides meaningful resources for our student-athletes while positioning Ohio State Athletics for long-term success in an ever-changing collegiate landscape.”

As part of the agreement, Chase will also introduce exclusive fan experiences, ticket opportunities, and gameday benefits for cardholders. Branding will be featured throughout Ohio Stadium, the Schottenstein Center, and additional athletic venues across campus.

The partnership further strengthens JPMorganChase’s relationship with The Ohio State University, where the company has maintained a significant presence through internships, scholarships, workforce development, and community initiatives in Central Ohio.

The announcement comes as athletic departments nationwide continue pursuing new revenue streams amid NIL expansion and the implementation of revenue-sharing models. Ohio State has remained one of the national leaders in adapting to the changing financial landscape, and the addition of JPMorganChase represents another major step in that effort.

With one of the country’s largest athletic brands, Ohio State’s agreement could serve as a blueprint for future partnerships between Fortune 500 companies and major college athletic programs.
