Women’s Owen Hart Tournament Quarterfinal – Skye Blue Vs. Maya World
The first match on Dynamite in the Owen Hart Tournament was a quarterfinal between Skye Blue and Maya World. Saree was originally scheduled for this, but was replaced by World due to injury. When neither wrestler is overtly athletic or strong, the match is typically doomed for failure.
The match lacked momentum and impact, although it delivered a couple of believable false finishes and a truly surprising finish. World pulled out the upset victory to advance to the semifinals.
Men’s Owen Hart Tournament Semifinal – Swerve Strickland Vs. Brody King
The main event of Dynamite was when Swerve Strickland and Brody King faced off for a spot in the finals. This affair was much more physical, with both guys giving and taking solid bumps. King’s skull was ultimately busted open, which added to the visual throughout. Strickland picked up the victory via pinfall, advancing to the finals of the Owen Hart Tournament.
In Conclusion
Strickland gets “The Ariel Assassin” Will Osprey in the finals at Forbidden Door. The women have more matches remaining, with the semifinals kicking off next week. Stay tuned to Greenville Sports Media to stay up to date on the Owen Hart Tournament.
