This week’s AEW Dynamite results are from the stop in Ontario, California, which was the final episode before Grand Slam Australia. Things came together, as expected, but the main event was a huge surprise to fans worldwide.
Swerve Strickland & Kenny Omega Collide
AEW Dynamite opened with Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland being introduced by Tony Schiavone in the ring for an interview. Strickland accused Omega of using his EVP status to get the opportunity for a title match, despite not having earned it.
After some back-and-forth, Omega smacked Strickland in the face, and the fight was on. It didn’t take long for the mayhem to parade through the crowd. The segment ended with both men going through a relatively soft double-table spot, which took them both out.
Dynamite Results: Death Riders Vs. Don Callis Family
The first match was Death Riders versus The Don Callis Family in trios action. Jon Moxley, Pac, and Claudio Castagnoli represented Death Riders, while Konosuke Takeshita, Davis, and Josh Alexander represented Don Callis.
This was one of the most physical matches fans will ever get on free television. All men were intense and stiff, but also worked in classical wrestling and unique reversals. Moxley ultimately pinned Alexander in a classic.
Dynamite Results: TNT Championship Match
Kyle Fletcher got an opportunity at the TNT Championship he once had, against current champion Tomasso Ciampa. This match made it back-to-back physical bangers. The false finishes both ways were exciting and tense. Fletcher regained the championship in another classic match. Dynamite was on fire to this point. During the post-match celebration, the new champ agreed to defend it in a ladder match against Mark Briscoe at Grand Slam Australia.
Dynamite Results – Tag Actions
Daniel Garcia and Clark Connors versus Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong was next. Strong left Cassidy hanging on a tag attempt, but Darby Allin made a surprise appearance to even the odds, leading to the unlikely win for Orange.
The Young Bucks versus The Rascalz versus Private Party was next. It may not have been as physical as the prior matches, but they made up for it with pace, reversals, and high spots. The Bucks won to become the number one contender for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
Dynamite Results – AEW Women’s World Championship Match
The main event was a strap match for the AEW Women’s World Champion. Kris Statlander is scheduled to defend against Thekla. It started as a genuinely physical affair, so it’s sad to see AEW constantly feel the need for color, overusing the blade constantly.
The cut was deep, so it created a striking visual combined with the leather strap; it’s just how they got there, which didn’t add up. The Sisters of Sin aided in the crowning of a new champion.
In Conclusion
Grand Slam Australia is just a couple of days away. Stay tuned to Greenville Sports Media for the latest.
