Week 13 of NFL Sunday Night Football takes us to Buffalo, where the Bills are set to host the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams with legitimate hopes of winning their division, battling each other, and perhaps, some snow, this Sunday night.
The San Francisco 49ers have had tough luck, in both injuries and turning yards into points. The 49ers actually rank 4th in the league for offensive yards per game, but only 13th in points per game, which has been on the decline as well. QB Brock Purdy questionable (shoulder), OT Trent Williams out (ankle), DE Nick Bosa out (hip/oblique), OT Trent Williams out (ankle), WR Chris Conley questionable (neck), and these are not even half the updates since Friday. We could write a whole article on the missed man hours, and who is still missing, for this team. The 49ers top 5 defence has kept them at 5-6, only 1 game back of first place in the NFC West, but yet still technically in last. The beat up 49ers have lost 2 in a row, and look to be in tough Sunday night against the Bills.
Buffalo enters this one at 9-2 and on a 6 game winning streak. The Bills are averaging over 29 points a game this season, thanks in part to QB Josh Allen taking a step in taking care of the football. The Bills seem to be more cohesive since the departure of Stefon Diggs, which is the opposite of what people were expecting pre-season. Their defense is better than expected coming into the season as well, and we are far enough along to trust it. Averaging under 20 points allowed per game, the Bills are second in the league this year in average scoring margin, at +9.6.
Bodog has the Bills as -6.5 point favorites at the time of writing this, which doesn’t seem too big to me, as the Bills rank well above the 49ers in both points for, and against. The Bills are also even more dangerous at home, averaging 35 per game. The 49ers are just too beat up this season to trust them in this game.
