Ripley Joins War Games – WWE Raw 11/18/24 Recap

WWE Raw opened this week with Liv Morgan and Racquel Rodriquez, who called in backup in the form of Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae. Nia would start shooting off about the Women’s Tag Champs, as well as Naomi. This of course, brought them out, with ally, Iyo Sky. Liv would point out it’s still 5-on-4, which is when the music of Rhea Ripley would hit. Ripley would just yell “War Games” and the fight was on.
The first match of the night would be a mixed tag match between Rey Mysterio & Zelina Vega versus Chad Gable & Ivy Nile. The match was good, but everything we see from LWO seems to be a spot that stops the genuine flow of the match. Rey Mysterio would get the pinfall victory for his team.
The next segment would see Gunther backstage with Lugwid Kaiser, and it truly did appear Gunther was working some fear into his character. He would overcome his fear by blindsiding Damian Priest, who was coincidentally nearby doing signings. Priest would actually get the better of the exchange, despite the disadvantage. They are really killing the character of Gunther too quickly in my opinion.
The next match would see Sheamus challenging Bron Breakker for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. This one did not disappoint with good power moves and stiff strikes. They would be building great false finishes, reversing each other’s finishers, and then Ludwig Kaiser would appear and ruin the match, with a big focus on Sheamus, wanting to take him out “for good”.
The War Raiders would take on Dirty Dom & Carlito in a tag match. Another good match, nothing you haven’t seen before from either team, but still good spots and intensity. War Raiders would go on to win this one, only to get jumped by the rest of Judgment Day after the match.
The main event would be Bronson Reed versus Seth Rollins, a violent storyline that has been bubbling for weeks. It didn’t take long for thing’s to get silly. To start, The Bloodline came out like lumberjacks, surrounding the ring in aid of Bronson Reed. Not sure if we got into the match before the Original Bloodline ran down for a ringside brawl. The match would continue on and lead to some great false finishes. Solo Sikoa would distract Seth Rollins when he climbed to the top, and this would cost Seth. Bronson Reed would hit him with, among other things, a death valley driver, for the win.
