Claudio Castagnoli Vs. Ace Austin | Continental Challenge Cup
AEW Collision opened with a Continental Challenge Cup match: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Ace Austin. These two usually top-tier talents didn’t appear to have great chemistry, with the segments very clear. Castagnoli picked up the pinfall victory after hitting a pop-up European uppercut, and he’s the first to advance in the tournament.
The Brawling Birds Vs. Vertvixen & Viva Van | Tag Team Match
The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jaime Hayter) vs. Vertvixen and Viva Van was next on AEW Collision. This was a glorified squash match for The Birds, before they were stacked by AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champion Divine Dominion, ahead of their match at All In.
Orange Cassidy Vs. Matt Sydal | Continental Challenge Cup
“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy had a Continental Cup match with Matt Sydal. This one lacked a certain physicality, and the winner was obvious beforehand; Cassidy advanced.
The Rascalz on AEW Collision
The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier and Zachary Wentz) had a squash match with two talents that were already in the ring, and didn’t even get graphics for their names. This match went straight into Myron Reed (the final member of the faction) vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and they actually had a legitimate match. While it lacked the old school elements some may desire, it was a quick pace with entertaining high-spots. Bailey ultimately pulled out the victory on AEW Collision.
Hikaru Shida & Persephone Vs. Maya World & Hyan | Tag Team Match
Hikaru Shida and CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone teamed against TBS Champion Maya World and Hyan. This was quite slow and soft, with Shida locking up the pinfall victory for her team.
Bang Bang Gang & Jack Perry Vs. Death Riders | Eight-Man Tag
Next was the eight-man tag between the Bang Bang Gang with Jack Perry vs. Death Riders. Marina Shafir distracted the referee, and The Dogs pounced from out of nowhere to attack the BBG. Wheeler Yuta picked up the ultimate pin for the Death Riders.
Eddie Kingston Vs. Jake Doyle | Continental Challenge cup
Another Continental Cup match ended the show: Eddie Kingston vs. Jake Doyle. This was a stiff contest. Kingston battled back from a sit-down powerbomb to win via tapout and carry on in the Continental Classic Cup.
