AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming | Credit: AEW
AEW Dynamite hosted their annual Winter is Coming event on the latest episode. The Continental Classic continued, along with multiple championship matches. Along with those championship matches was the finals to determine the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions. Here are the main takeaways from Wednesday’s event.
Inaugural Champs At Winer Is Coming
The finals of the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship opened AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming. Timeless Love Bombs and Babes of Wrath battled it out for the honor. Willow Nightingale pinned Mina Shirakawa for the finish. The majority of people seem to have a more positive opinion of Harley Cameron than this writer. She’s certainly over with both the talent and the audience.
Gold League Of Continental Classic At Winter Is Coming
Jack Perry took on Kazuchika Okada in the Gold League of the Continental Classic. The match itself was run-of-the-mill, but Don Callis tried to recruit Perry after his loss. As if the loss wasn’t enough, he felt forced to attack everyone in The Don Callis Family at once. The numbers disadvantage was too much to overcome until Luchasaurus and The Young Bucks came to aid, coming out on top to finish the segment.
“Speedball” Mike Bailey and “The Protostar” Kyle Fletcher also battled it out in Gold League action. Both men looked great, but it was the strength and physicality of Fletcher that stood out. The pace was kept throughout, including fluid reversals from both men, leading to many believable false finishes. The crowd erupted when Bailey pulled out the upset after an absolute classic of a wrestling match.
Okasa and Fletcher are now tied atop the gold league with six points. Bailey picked up his first three points in the upset victory.

AEW Dynamite: Winter Is Coming Main Event
Samoa Joe defended his AEW World Heavyweight Championship against Eddy Kingston in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming. It was an entertaining match, but it fell short as the main event following the previous match. The fact that the winner felt predictable didn’t aid the quality, with Joe already having an ongoing championship storyline with Hangman.
