East Rutherford, N.J. — For the first time since 2021, the Carolina Panthers are on a three-game win streak.
But that streak is in peril.
Bryce Young Out Indefinitely
Quarterback Bryce Young suffered an ankle injury late in the third quarter and appeared to walk to the locker room with a slight limp. The Panthers ruled him as questionable before ruling him out for the game.
Young’s injury occurred after taking a hit by Jowon Briggs on third down.
“We’re evaluating him for the right ankle,” coach Dave Canales said. “So, we’re taking all the information and we’ll look at him when we get home some more and see where we’re at.”
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported late Monday morning that Young has a high ankle sprain. Canales expects him to miss this week’s game against the Buffalo Bills, stating the injury is day-to-day.
Young finished his appearance 15 of 25 for 138 yards and a touchdown.
Xavier Legette, Jaycee Horn Have Career Days
Despite Bryce Young’s injury, wide receiver Xavier Legette and cornerback Jaycee Horn both played incredible against the Jets.
Legette had the best game of his career this far, catching nine passes for 92 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came from Bryce Young with 1:11 left in the first half. This was the only non-field goal scored on the day between either teams.
After being sacked before the end of the first half, the Jets benched quarterback Justin Fields in favor of Tyrod Taylor.
Taylor found no room to breathe during his stint as he threw his first interception of the season to Horn, who snagged the ball from Josh Reynolds with one hand in the endzone.
Horn picked off Taylor once again near the end of the fourth quarter.
Looking To Next Week…

The Panthers head back home this week to host the Buffalo Bills for the first time since 2017, when they won 9-3.
With Bryce Young being doubtful for Sunday’s match, Andy Dalton is slated to take over.
This is the first time Dalton has faced the Bills since 2019, dating back to his days with the Cincinnati Bengals. Dalton has not beat Buffalo since 2017 when the Bengals won 20-16.
Even with Young being questionable for a return on Sunday, the Panthers could be poised to beat the Bills if injuries for the Bills sideline their key playmakers.
Dalton Kincaid, Daquan Jones, Terrel Bernard, Joshua Palmer, and Matt Milano are all questionable to return this week. Kincaid leads Buffalo in receiving yards, Jones in sacks, and Bernard in tackles.
Considering how healthy the Panthers have been this season and how explosive some smaller name guys have been, Carolina could see it’s third win ever over the Bills.
This week’s game kicks off on Sunday at 2 PM from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
