As expected, the Atlanta Falcons have placed safety Micah Abernathy on the injured reserve list. Abernathy left Sunday’s 38-20 win over the Carolina Panthers due to a hamstring injury and did not return. The team signed offensive lineman Matt Hennessy off the practice squad in a corresponding move. Hennessy, a former third round by Atlanta in 2020, has been elevated each of the last two weeks to provide depth behind Ryan Neuzil at center.
The @AtlantaFalcons are running stuff I personally haven’t seen before in the NFL in their run game (some others teams have started to run this season I’ve seen)#nfllive pic.twitter.com/3PYd4goHsh

The Falcons also filled their final two practice squad vacancies, signing safety Dane Cruikshank and offensive lineman Coy Cronk on Tuesday afternoon. Cruikshank spent most of the 2024 NFL season on the practice squad but was released when the team signed linebacker Rashaan Evans.

Cronk, 26, went undrafted out of Iowa in 2021 before signing with the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He appeared in three games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022 but has spent most of his NFL career on Jacksonville’s practice squad.
