Game 2 of the day features the Lander Bearcats (25-5, 17-3 PBC) versus the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters (19-11, 14-8 SAC) in a great game of high-octane teams who like to play fast-paced offense. Lander who doesn’t have a quote top scorer, loves to play defense like the old ACC Virginia teams yet can play quality offense with many players getting in the shots. LMU wants to push the game into their favor and roll the dice with top scorer Nate Mims.

Lander comes out on fire and takes control of the game over LMU. The first 15 minutes of the game Lander has pushed the envelope and has kept LMU down till the last few minutes where LMU has gotten back within one point as its 33-32 with four minutes left in the first half. We have under a minute left and Lander lead LMU 37-35, but the Railsplitters get hot and now take the lead 38-37 with 26 seconds left. Lander makes a huge basket here right before halftime and now leads 39-38. The leading scorers are Greyson Pritzl Guard with 9 points 3-5 fgm, and LMU has EJ Smith with 12 points, 3 assist and a rebound going into the second half of play.

Lander comes right out of halftime with a turnover of LMU and a shot made to only have LMU get a 3 pointer and its 41-41 all here with only 2 minutes off the clock. LMU takes the lead with 16 minutes in the game, yet Lander gets the steal and gets a huge basket to tie it up then a FT and takes the lead 44-43. Lander then gets a huge three point shot and its 47-43 with a media timeout.

Coming out of the timeout LMU gets a foul and gets two shots and its 47-45 Lander in the lead. The game has just at 13 minutes left and its 50-47 LMU now in the lead over Lander which is now getting in foul trouble. LMU has also had a chance to increase the lead but has had some bad turnovers under the rim. Lander is also missing some key free throw shots which could have them closer in the game. LMU is now ahead 55-47 with 12 minutes left in the game.
Media timeout has both teams trying to get under control, its 57-49 LMU in the lead. Walter Campbell leads LMU with 14 points as three players are in double figures. Lander is led by Greyson Pritzl who has 15 points and the only player on Lander in double figures, yet all 8 players for Lander have scored in the game. The Bearcats are back in the game with it 64-60 Lander over LMU with 7 minutes to go in the game. The crowd that traveled from Lander is in the game now, and LMU needs to get the game slowed down and not get out of control. Lander is now starting to pull away after two huge turnovers by LMU, and it is now 66-63 with 4 minutes left in the game.
We have just at 2 minutes left in the game and the Lander Bearcats are leading the LMU Railsplitters 68-65 as like Game 1 earlier its going to come down to the final shots of the game to decide the winner. We have a timeout on the floor and its 71-67 Lander in the lead with 1:53 left in the game. The game ends in dramatic fashion with Lander getting the win, and moving on in the NCAA Division 2 tournament 76-71!
