Furman Paladins Men’s Soccer (5-3-2) took a trip to Clinton S.C. and was able to get another much-needed victory in non-conference play by taking down the Presbyterian Blue Hose. The Paladins was able in the first 14 minutes of the game get two goals and the defense did the rest.

Furman’s first goal was at the 8th minute when Slade Starnes intercepted a pass in Furman territory and sent a long pass to Lloyd Wamu Snell who then was able to nail a shot from the left wing to the right side of the goal for the 1-0 lead. Furman Starnes then once again won a long throw-in in the middle of the box, then got it to Ivan Agyaakwah, who was able to get it past the Blue Hose goalkeeper to get the 2-0 lead and the Furman defense dominated from there.

Sophomore Aaron Salinas earned his shutout in goal, giving him a impressive resume this year for the Paladins. Loan Marin made 3 saves in a losing effort for PC.

The Paladins will now return home on Senior night in Stone Soccer Stadium Saturday night at 7pm to face the VMI Cadets in Conference play. Admission is free so stay after the football game which starts at 2pm as Furman plays Western Carolina and support the Soccer team in a fun filled day of sports.
