Wake Forest (2-4, 1-2 ACC) on Saturday was not able to get a win over the #10 Clemson tigers after having a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Clemson was able to score 28 points in the second quarter to Wakes 7 points and then turn it on in the second half to lead to a 49-14 loss at home.

Clemson was able to dominate Wake in the second half with pure defense, and 21 unanswered points. Wake Head Coach Dave Clawson said, “Still allot of football left, our players will keep pressing on”. Wake Forest had only 16 first downs to Clemson’s 37 which was also a huge advantage to the team from South Carolina. Wake Forest QB Hank Bachmeier Had 126 yards passing, whereas Cade Klubnik had over 309 yards in the game. Clemson running back Phil Mafah also helped the cause with 118 yards, and TE Jake Briningstool caught for 104 yards in the game. Wakes Demond Claiborne had 53 yards in the game, while WR Deuce Alexander had 60 yards total.

Wake Forest now plays UConn this coming Saturday, while the Tigers will be heading back home to face Virginia at Death Valley.
