LAWRENCEVILLE, Georgia – David McCabe completed a four-RBI night with a three-run homer in the eighth inning, but the Gwinnett Stripers (23-26, 61-62) fell a run short in a 5-4 loss to the Durham Bulls (29-19, 57-66) on Friday night at Gwinnett Field. The Bulls lead the series 3-1.

Decisive Plays: Carson Williams and Austin Slater combined to drive in four runs as the Bulls took a 4-0 lead through five innings. The Stripers got on the board in the sixth thanks to a sacrifice fly from McCabe. Durham got that run back in the eighth to make it 5-1. With two on and one out in the bottom of the eighth, McCabe crushed a three-run blast (1) to center field to make it a one-run game. Gwinnett stranded two on in the eighth and another in the ninth, however, falling 5-4.

Key Contributors: McCabe (2-for-3, homer, 4 RBIs) drove in all four runs and homered in his 2026 Triple-A debut. For Durham, Williams (2-for-3, 2 doubles, 2 RBIs) had a multi-hit, multi-RBI night. Logan Workman (W, 2-7) threw 5.0 scoreless innings for the win.
Noteworthy: The Stripers are now 13-25 in one-run games this season, the most one-run losses in the International League. McCabe has homered in each of his last three games as a Striper going back to September 19, 2025, batting .600 (6-for-10, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 2.138 OPS) in that span. Brewer Hicklen extended his hitting streak to nine games with a 2-for-5 effort and stole his 30th base of the year, giving Gwinnett four 30-base stealers for the first time in club history.
