NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 16, 2026) – The ETSU women’s soccer team fell 4-0 to No. 5 Vanderbilt on Sunday night in Nashville.
The Buccaneers (0-1-0) were valiant in defense in the first half under considerable pressure from the Commodores (2-0-0). Vanderbilt broke through in the 26th minute off the foot of Olivia Stafford and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Bucs defense buckled in the second half as Vanderbilt scored three times in the final 17 minutes to set the final score.
Vanderbilt outshot ETSU 19-1 overall and 12-1 in shots on goal. Addison Yelton made the second-most saves of her career with eight.
The Bucs return home Thursday to host West Georgia in the return leg of a home-and-home series they opened with a win in Carrollton in 2025.
