These AEW Dynamite results feature one of the worst title drops in company history, and not because of the talent.

Darby Allin & MJF
Darby Allin tried to invoke his shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship to open the show, but MJF wasn’t having it. To the champ’s dismay, the match was made for the main event later in the evening.
AEW Dynamite Results – Tommaso Ciampa Vs. Dezmond Xavier
“Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa versus Dezmond Xavier was the first match of the evening. The match was rather vanilla, with Ciampa taking the mic post-victory. He’s coming for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
Fluff From FTR
FTR, fresh off defending the AEW World Tag Team Championship, came to cut an in-ring promo. It was rather meaningless, with them simply boasting but giving nothing about the future.
AEW Dynamite Results – Kevin Knight Vs. Cladio Castagnoli
Claudio Castagnoli had a shot at “The Jet” Kevin Knight and his newly acquired AEW TNT Championship. This was a terrible booking; in no world does anybody buy Knight pinning Castagnoli clean, but that’s what happened.
Chris Jericho & Ricochet
Chris Jericho had an in-ring interview with Renee Paquette for the next segment. His rivalry with Ricochet and the Gates of Agony continues. After Jericho’s loss at Dynasty to Ricochet, the trio left him lifeless in the ring once again.
AEW Dynamite Results – Will Ospreay Vs. Hechicero
“The Ariel Assassin” Will Ospreay versus Hechicero was next. Ospreay and the AEW staff worked the neck injury as Hechicero controlled most of the match. Outside of milking the fake injury for too long, the match was a great, physical, back-and-forth affair. The Ariel Assassin picked up the victory, only to be blindsided by Mark Davis, who is standing up for his fellow Don Callis Family member.
AEW Women’s World Championship Picture
NJPW Women’s Champion Alex Winsor interrupted AEW Women’s World Champion Teckla during a promo. The Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) tried to jump Winsor, but she was up for the challenge. The result was a title match announced for Collision.
TBS Championship Match
Kamille had a shot at the TBS Championship when she challenged Willow Nightingale. The challenger actually dominated most of the match, only to lose to a backslide pin.
AEW World Heavyweight Championship Match
Allin got his title shot against MJF; and AEW flushed away all credibility on the title’s lineage. MJF tried to low-blow his opponent by distracting the refferree at the opening bell.
Allin reversed the low blow into one of his own. Four coffin drops later there is a new AEW World Heavyweight Champion. No real build-up, not even on PPV, it’s an odd booking. This squash match did nothing for either star. It was, however, certainly a cool site for a kid that deserves it.
AEW Dynamite Results, In Conclusion
It’s not that Allin didn’t earn his way to the top; it was just a horrible booking. Stay tuned to Greenville Sports Media for the latest AEW coverage.
