These AEW Dynamite results are a result of the show in Cedar Park, Texas, on January 28, 2026. The card was promising with three title matches scheduled. With so much gold on the line at the H-E-B Center, it was destined for greatness.
AEW Dynamite Open
The show opened with the music of Kenny Omega. He has a match with Rocky Romero, who was already in the ring. It felt disrespectful for a talent of his stature, even if the outcome was obvious on paper. They let Romero get a spot or two in, but the match was over within a few minutes.
Tony Schiavone interviewed Omega after his win. In short, he’s feeling good and aiming for the world title. This prompted “Hangman” Adam Page to join them in the ring. Swerve Strickland didn’t like the fact that Page laid claim to be the next world champion and made his way to the ring as well. The final person to interrupt was Don Callis, who is the manager of the final star in the title picture – Andrade.
AEW Dynamite – Continental Championship Qualifier
The next match was a qualifier for the AEW Continental Championship. If Ace Austin could defeat Jon Moxley, he’d get another match against him, but for the title. Austin has moments where he looked good, but it didn’t take long for Moxley to wrap it up. Konosuke Takeshita came to the ring post-match to call his shot at the title.
AEW Dynamite – TNT Championship Match
Next up was a match for the TNT Championship. El Clon got the opportunity against the current champion, Mark Briscoe. Clon continues to impress since his recent debut. mixing in great athleticism with unique move sets and reversals. Briscoe has the ring iq to work with anybody, making it a stiff back-and-forth. After retaining the title, the champ was joined by the surprising debut of Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa was answering the open challenge for this Saturday on Collision.
MJF And Brody King
MJF’s promo was quickly interrupted by Brody King. After an entertaining heel promo, which included calling King the liberal closest to resembling a Nazi, the big man dropped some news. Next week, the champ will face him in an eliminator match. In other words, a non-title number one contender match.
AEW Dynamite – Women’s World Championship Match
Kris Statlander had her AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against “The Toxic Spider” Thekla. This had to be the most entertaining and talent-filled women’s match on Dynamite in recent history. Both women showed great strength, pace, move sets, and reversals. It never felt realistic that Statlander would drop the title for a random match on television, but they still managed thrilling false finishes both ways.
AEW Dynamite – World Tag Team Championship Match
FTR followed up with a third consecutive title match. They had to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Davis and Doyle. These are four old-school dudes, and they did not disappoint. These boys were laying everything in thick, while maintaining an entertaining pace and smooth reversals. All participants had visual welts in this normal tag match, yet there was no weapon in sight. If you ever want to compare sports entertainment and wrestling, use this match as the example of wrestling.
The match was unfortunately booked with a dirty finish. Deathriders caused a distraction, allowing Moxley to hit Doyle with his championship belt, leading to the pin. The match was so entertaining that one can only hope for a rematch with a clean finish.
Swerve Strickland Vs. Andrade El Idolo
The main event of AEW Dynamite this week was Andrade el Idolo versus Swerve Strickland. This was another stiff contest, but they executed some unique and difficult reversals as well. The tense false finishes were plentiful. This was another match above the relative standard of Dynamite. Andrade ultimately picked up the victory to remain undefeated since his return to AEW.
In Conclusion
This week’s episode of Collision is scheduled for two more title matches: the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship and the TNT Championship. Omega will face Andrade to decide the number one contender, and King will try to earn a shot at that same title next week.
