AEW Dynaite
The first match of AEW Dynamite this week saw World Heavyweight Champion Adam Page take on Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family. This was a physical matchup with Alexander in control for most of it. Page made an exhilarating comeback with a Dead Eye on the apron, followed by a top-rope moonsault to the floor. One buckshot lariat and fans had their winner. Kyle Fletcher came to talk to the champ after the match. After some discussion, he was granted his world title match at All Out. The only stipulation is that he must keep his faction in the back.
AEW Filler
The next match was Emi Sakura and Mercedes Mone versus Alex Windsor and Riho. The match was mediocre, and saw Riho tap out Sakura in advance of her TNT title shot against Mone at All Out.
FTR and Big Stoke came to the ring to cut a promo next. Strange promo where they challenged the crowd to a fight, and then attacked a cameraman. Dedicated to their opponents, but felt like filler.
Ricochet Vs. Shelton Benjamin
The next match was Ricochet versus Shelton Benjamin. Side note: this is Ricochet’s best gimmick since Prince Puma. Benjamin was in control for most of this one, but did end up on the wrong side of a few slick reversals. After agreeing to leave their faction-mates in the back, Ricochets came in at the last minute to aid him to victory, breaking their pre-match agreement. It was a three-on-three brawl into a commercial break. They will settle this at All Out.
Terribly Hoakey Street Fight
Next up, a street fight between Toni Storm and Skye Blue. It was soft for a street fight, and wasn’t aided by Blue’s botch on the barricade. There were numerous moments where the execution was so poor that it made it impossible to buy into the match. They even clearly only stapled spots that Storm had extra protection on.
AEW Dynamite Main Event
The main event was a $500,000 ten-man tag match. It was The Young Bucks and The Deathriders versus The Opps and Brodido. The match itself was a mess, but it did include physicality and high spots. The Bucks would team up in a heel-antic pin, holding Bandido’s leg on the rope, for the victory. The fight continued after the bell with the appearance of Darby Allin. Following all of this, Daniel Garcia seemingly joined The Deathriders, taking out Allen.
