“Hangman” Adam Page started Dynamite with a squash match that lasted mere moments. Sitting on a chair in the middle of the ring, Page called out MJF after the match. MJF would answer the call but declined the fight. As he threw to the Jumbotron, MJF suggested it may be a good time to check on his friend, Christopher Daniels, who was left in a blood pool backstage.
The Don Callis Family
With a bounty on his head, Will Ospreay had a match against Bryan Keith. The Don Callis family attempting to ensure Ospreay doesn’t make it to their upcoming PPV match at Revolution. Keith put up a fight and the two men had a great match. Their pace, striking, and reversals all made this a great match. After the match, Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher would brawl in the crowd until officials separated to end the segment.
AEW Championship Storylines
With a shot at the Tag Team Championship on the line, The Outrunners took on Lance Archer and Brian Cage. The match lacked chemistry, with the teams simply taking turns being in control. Murder Machine was in control when The Hurt Syndicate made an appearance, distracting the big men. The Outrunners got the roll-up pinfall.
Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana came to the ring with a clipboard. Still wearing Nana’s robe, Ricochet interrupted Swerve’s promo. The two will face off in a number one contender match for the World Heavyweight Title at Revolution. After Ricochet left, Nana took to the mic. Nana needs the most dangerous man in AEW and his robe back, or he doesn’t know if he can do this anymore.
Undisputed Kingdom took on FTR and Daniel Garcia is trios action. Not much technical wrestling to speak of, but it was high-paced and entertaining. They did well using all six men in interesting segments. Undisputed Kingdom ended up with the pinfall, and Adam Cole will face Daniel Garcia for the TNT Championship at Revolution.
Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta had a segment where they jumped Cope. The Deathriders had Cope laid out for a conchairto, but Jay White played saviour. White was enough of a distraction for Cope to end up delivering a conchairto to Claudio. Willow Nightingale made a surprise appearance, ensuring Marina Shafir didn’t leave without getting a conchairto.
AEW Dynamite Women’s Action
Deonna Purrazzo versus Harley Cameron was next. This was a boring matchup, Purrazzo was in control the entire time, with Cameron pulling it out at the end.
Main Event – International Title Tournament Semi-Finals
The main event was for the final spot against Kenny Omega for the International Championship. Orange Cassidy and Konsuke Takeshita. This was the match of the night, with the two men stacking counters on counters. The strength for some of the reversals from Takeshita was unreal, while Cassidy’s athleticism was on display. Takeshita’s strength proved too much for Cassidy’s high-flying, and he will face Will Ospreay at Revolution.
