AEW World’s End is this Saturday, and Dynamite this week was full of matches and stories needed. leading up to this PPV. The Continental Classic leads to World’s End, and Dynamite this week was a huge part of that.
Continental Classic
Dynamite would open this weak with a match in the Continental Classic; Will Ospreay versus Brody King. Ospreay would be in control early, and executed some great high spots. Brody King would retaliate would some of the most viscous strikes you will ever see. They would also go back-and-forth on great false finishes. Ospreay would go on to win a PPV quality match.
The Continental Classic would continue when Ricochet and Darby Allin would faceoff. The match was a physical and back-and-forth affair, all leading to a massive 630 senton from Ricochet, off the top rope onto Darby, who was on a table on the floor. The two would battle on, all the way to the one-minute remaining warning. Darby Allin would hit his Coffin Drop and go for the pin, only for the 20-minute time limit to expire. The draw would give each man one point, but that would be enough for Ricochet to advance to the semi-finals.
More Continental Classic action, this time between Kommander and Claudio Castingolli. Claudio would be in charge early, showing great striking and power. Kommander, who was tipped off on the way to the ring by Darby Allin, would grab the brass knuckles that Claudio had in his jacket and hit Cladio with them. This would lead to Kommander’s victory, but also to Deathriders jumping him after the bell. Jay White and Orange Cassidy would come to Kommander’s aid, but the numbers would prove to much.
AEW World Heavyweight Championship
Jon Moxley would grab the microphone and let Jay White and Orange Cassidy that this is the closest they would ever be to the World Heavyweight Championship. Adam Page would make his way to the ring and it would be a three-on-one attack on Moxley. The four will compete for the title this Saturday at World’s End.
Mid-Card Mediocrity
Kazuchika Okada defeated Shelton Benjamin, followed by Toni Storm defeating Taya Valkerie. Two average mid-card matches.
AEW Dynamite Main Event
Daniel Garcia and Kyle Fletcher would compete in the Continental Classic in the main event of Dynamite this week. Extremely physical back-and-forth match. Fletcher would go on to win the match and advance to the semi-finals of the Continental Classic. His opponent, Will Ospreay, would pay him a visit after the match. The two would go face-to-face in advance of their match at World’s End.
