The first match of AEW Dynamite this week would see Mercedes Mone defend the TBS Championship against Anna Jay. This was a pretty rough start with no pace and no flow. The two would pick it up near the end with a couple of false finishes but overall a pretty mediocre match where Mone retained her title.
MJF And Adam Cole
The next segment would be a promo from MJF where it would be taking jabs at Adam Cole. They two are set to face off for the Dynamite Diamond Ring at World’s End. Cole would make it seem like he was talking live on the Jumbotron only to appear in the ring to blindside MJF.
Tag Team Action
Christian Cage would team with Nick Wayne to take on Hook and Katsuyori Shibata in a tag match. This was a pretty slow match until Shibata picked up the pace and the intensity. It would not be enough as The Patriarchy would have the numbers advantage at ringside which aided in their ultimate victory.
The Hurt Syndicate And Ricochet
Ricochet would come to the ring and was quickly interrupted by The Hurt Syndicate. Ricochet would think it was a friendly visit until his invitation to The Hurt Syndicate was forcefully taken from him and he went on his way.
Shelton Benjamin Vs The Beast Mortos
This was a very physical match in the Continental Classic that also had some great athletic spots. Shelton Benjamin would pick up the victory before The Hurt Syndicate would jump him two-on-one. They would warn Daniel Garcia that this would be his fate for his match against Benjamin next week. Daniel Garcia would be joined by Mark Briscoe and the two would rush the ring. Unfortunately, they were also beaten down and Benjamin would pick up Daniel Garcia’s AEW TNT Championship.
Will Ospreay Vs Darby Allin
The next match would be another one in the Continental Classic featuring Darby Allin and Will Ospreay. This match brought the intensity and some pretty crazy spots including Allin trying to hit a Coffin Drop on the apron only for Ospreay to move out of the way resulting in a crazy crash landing. They would continue on with great pace and some of the best chains of reversals you could imagine. Just when you thought this match had it all the striking would pick up and the false finishes were amazing. If you didn’t watch I recommend you stop reading because spoiler alert, Darby Allen would pull out the upset victory.
AEW Dynamite Main Event
This week’s main event will be a trio match featuring Death Riders, who will take on Jay White, Orange Cassidy, and Adam Page. White and Page could not work together resulting in Page walking out on the match. Jay White would make a valiant effort leading up to the hot tag to bring in Orange Cassidy. Page would make his way back to the ring only to further argue with his team, resulting in the opportunity for Moxley to get the rollup pinfall on Cassidy.
