WWE Survivor Series: War Games is this Saturday at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. The teams are finally set, along with three other championship matches, Survivor Series is set to be a great event.
The Men’s War Games match got its final member with the return of CM Punk on SmackDown. He will join Roman Reigns, The Usos, and Sami Zayn, to take on The Bloodline with Bronson Reed. The advantage match is set for the episode of SmackDown the day before the event. I’m not sure it matter’s in the larger picture, I think the ending will be the same. Has CM Punk ever returned to job for anyone? I hate to boil it down to just that, the match is going to be very entertaining. Let’s look to The Usos and Jacob Fatu for the best high-spots of the whole night. It’s hard to see Roman Reigns and CM Punk both losing in the same match, just to put over The Bloodline.
Gunther will be defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest. It has been very strange to see how WWE has been booking Gunther as of late, looking weak and scared on TV. Priest, on the other hand, has been getting the better of him on TV. It’s sad to see Gunther clearly let him win the exchanges on the mic, as Priest has been using the exact same promo a few times in a row. They still seem to be pushing Priest, at the expense of one of the best runs of all time. I see Gunther losing this match, going on a lengthy vacation, and then making a surprise return.
The Women’s War Games match is all set as well. Bayley finally joined the team of Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Iyo Sky, to take on Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriquez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae. Bayley recently made her intentions of joining the team clear, by aiding in the victory of the Survivor Series advantage match. There’s no way Iyo Sky doesn’t deliver the best moment of this match, and I’ll predict that leads to the pin of Nia Jax. Let’s add Tiffany Stratton cashing in her Money in the Bank contract, and winning the WWE Women’s Championship, leaving Candice LeRae as Nia Jax’s new sidekick.
There will be a triple threat match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, featuring Bron Breakker, Sheamus, and Ludwig Kaiser. While I think Ludwig Kaiser is an underrated talent, he hasn’t had the singles run, or storyline, to justify an Intercontinental Championship run. The match itself is set to be a very physical, stiff match. Bron has had a couple runs with it as of late, and they keep mentioning the fact this is the one championship to elude Sheamus. Sheamus has also put in the most physical and consistent work in WWE history. All three are going to look great, but it’s Sheamus’ time.
LA Knight will defend his WWE United States Championship against the recently returned and repackaged, Shinsuke Nakamura. After hitting a hot peak and getting over with the crowd, Knight has failed to deliver a memorable match. LA Knight is a good wrestler, but it’s clear he relies on his gimmicks. Shinsuke is the returning heel, and also better in the ring. I’m taking Shinsuke Nakamura as your new WWE United States Champion.
