5 – Buffallo Bills (8-2)
Edging out the Minnisota Vikings for the final spot in this list, the Bills offense has been putting up almost 30 points a game this season. The Vikings defense may be a touch better, but the offense is averaging almost 6 points more per game this season, and 13 more per game over the last 3. Their defense may have to take a step to get much further on this list, but with an average scoring margin of almost 10 points, the team as a whole looks to be a legitimate threat.
4 – Baltimore Ravens (7-3)
The Ravens are most certainly the best offence in the league, averaging 440 yards and almost 32 points per game. The team is lucky to have this, as their defence is almost the complete opposite, ranking 27th in overall defence at 367.9 yards per game. Allowing over 25 points a game, it seems to be all on the offence if the Ravens want to contend for the superbowl.
3 – Philidelphia Eagles (7-2)
The Eagles must be on the most quiet 5 game win streak of all time, largley in thanks to their defence. Don’t sleep on the offence either, which is top 10 in whatever metric you prefer. The underrated defense ranks 2nd in defensive yards allowed, allowing about 18 points per game, and only about 15 per game in the last three. With the third best average scoring margin and a roster full of stars, people may be sleeping on the Eagles.
2 – Detroit Lions (8-1)
If you like scoring, you like the Detroit Lions. The only team that can even be in the conversation as the best offense with the Balitomore Ravens, the Lions averaging 31.6 points per game and 366.9 yards per game. In particular, the Lions can be passed on, with the 28th rank run defence. With the average scoring margin that leads the league at +12.6, the Lions seem be superbowl bound if the offence holds up.
1 – Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)
It may be controvsal, but how can it be? The only undefeated team has to be atop the rankings. I am not one to believe in luck. They have made big timley plays consistantly (including a blocked field goal – how is that lucky?). Top 5 in defence, top 10 in offence, undefeated 2x defending Super Bowl champs should be number one (it’s just trendy to hate on the best).
