AEW Revolution is this weekend in Greensboro, North Carolina. If all the great title matches don’t do it for you, this is also being billed as Sting’s final match. Let’s break down the card and do some predictions.

THIS SUNDAY! #TheIcon @Sting, in his FINAL MATCH, teams with @DarbyAllin to defend the #AEW World Tag Team Titles against EVPs Matthew & Nicholas Jackson, at #AEWRevolution!

In Sting’s retirement match, he will defend his tag-team titles with Darby Allin against The Young Bucks. Outside of the inevitable losing a step with age, Sting has been leaving it all in the ring on his retirement tour. There is no doubt he will be giving it his all in this match and leaving us with a couple spots we will not forget. Darby Allin can also bring a hardcore factor and is sure to do the craziest spot of the match. The Young Bucks are legends in their own right. They always bring a great pace and exciting high spots. With this being a retirement match, it makes me think he is going to drop the tag titles on his way out. I predict tons of high spots, great pace, danger, and The Young Bucks victoriously retiring Sting.

For one final time, @Sting descends from the rafters and gets revenge on those who did him wrong

The next championship on the line features Orange Cassidy defending his AEW International Championship against Roderick Strong. Orange Cassidy’s title reign has been lengthy. While he has certainly had some entertaining matchups, the title and the title reign seem to be going a bit stale. Roderick Strong has been getting a lot of TV time to go along with the recently formed Undisputed Kingdom. I feel like Orange has had Best Friends help him out enough times that they can’t replay that story again. These two men will have a great match, fast paced, slick reversals and more. I’m going with a change; I see Matt Taven and Mike Bennett helping Roderick Strong with this title.

Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta are back to even the odds against The Undisputed Kingdom!

Keep the title matches coming. Next up, Samoa Joe defends the AEW World Championship against “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland in a three-way match. There are numerous matches on this card that you could argue will be the most brutal of the night, but this one gets my vote. All three men have shown they can do it all. Great promo’s, technical prowess, and let’s not forget the cold-blooded brutality they all can bring. I expect all three to be a bloody mess at the end of this one. I found this prediction very tough. You could argue Swerve is on the hottest roll while being the only one to never hold that championship. That being said Adam Page got the better of him on the most recent episode of Dynamite. Neither man really seems to be getting to Samoa Joe, who is an extremely dominant champion. My prediction is that Swerve Strickland pins Adam Page to win his first major championship. This also leaves open the story that he never pinned Joe, leaving a rematch in the future.

As you saw tonight on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite, Hangman Page is not injured, and the AEW World Title 3 Way Match, Hangman vs @swerveconfident vs AEW World Champion @SamoaJoe, is ON for this Sunday's #AEWRevolution ppv!

“Timeless” Toni Storm will be defending the AEW Women’s World Championship against Deonna Porrazzo. While they have tried to build the relatively recent signee in Deonna Porrazzo, it hasn’t worked. Outside of a couple squash matches and an underwhelming win over veteran Madison Rayne, there isn’t much memorable to this build up. Toni Storm remains the bigger star and the bigger draw. For these reasons I am predicting Toni Storm to retain.

Eddie Kingston will defend his Continental Crown Championship against Bryan Danielson. This contest has some deep storylines as they have a rich history. If Danielson loses, he has to shake the hand of Eddie Kingston. This plays into the storyline they have been using, where Danielson has been disrespectful towards Eddie Kingston. I believe this to be a comeback story by the babyface. Both of these guys live and breathe wrestling and share the utmost respect. I think Danielson (aside from his gimmick) will be happy to put over the Continental Crown Champion.

In one of the few non-title matches, recent signee Will Ospreay will take on Konosuke Takeshita in a singles match. Don’t sleep on this match, these are two of the best in the world. I mean no disrespect to the amazing bell-to-bell wrestler Takeshita is but Will Ospreay is the newest AEW signing and one of the best to ever do it. Not to mention he is probably the bigger draw and more popular. Takeshita is sure to hang with him the whole time and will look great in this match, but it seems inevitable Will Ospreay wins this match to catapult his full time AEW career.

Christian Cage will be defending his AEW TNT Championship (with the help of the Patriarchy) against Daniel Garcia. Garcia is both a great in the ring talent, while also being an entertaining personality. It is obvious he is skilled while also growing on the crowd. While I think Garcia would be a great champion, Christian Cage has been on a mega-heater. We can probably all agree Garcia is the better athlete right now, but I see no way they are going to end the TNT title reign of Christian Cage.

FTR takes on Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli in tag-team action. These 2 teams have been having great matches in an ongoing rivalry. It’s hard to see either team losing the rivalry, both teams are as hard hitting and no nonsense as they come. If my earlier prediction of The Young Bucks winning the tag-team titles is correct, I think this lends to another storyline of FTR and The Young Bucks. This match could go either way and is sure to be a stiff contest, but my official prediction is FTR.

The final match currently scheduled is an All-Star Scramble match for a future AEW World Championship match. This contest will feature Chris Jericho, Wardlow, Powerhouse Hobbs, Lance Archer, Hook, Brian Cage, Magnus, and Dante Martin. So, who in this list makes the most sense for a future title shot? If I look at the current landscape and the storylines of each individual, Wardlow is standing out to me. He just recently returned and is also featured in the recently formed faction of The Undisputed Kingdom. I also recall on television some foreshadowing where Adam Cole said he would deal with who has the title after everyone in his faction wins some gold. I’m not saying Wardlow will win the AEW Championship, but it lends to some future issues between him and Adam Cole and some issues that may come up in the future for The Undisputed Kingdom. I will officially predict Wardlow in this scramble match.

The Meat Madness is now an All-Star 8-Man Scramble match for Revolution!

That’s all folks. This is one of the better cards I can remember in recent history. All of these matches have the potential to be a 5-star match while also could be a hardcore style match covered in blood. If you are into good matches bell-to-bell, this PPV is for you.
