Swamp Rabbits Travel to Savannah to face Ghost Pirates

The rematch from Friday heads to Savannah today as the Swamp Rabbits look to keep their playoff hopes alive, and a win today could help with the season coming down to a close. The Swamp Rabbits looking for a win to take sole possession of third place in the standings.

First Period of the game comes with the Rabbits giving the Pirates a quick deficit and score first at the 13:50 minute mark and its 1-0 Swamp Rabbits and they start the way they finished Friday night getting a quick goal and the Ghost Pirates who are already down heavy with injuries, now has to battle back to get in this game, though as we saw Friday night this team has allot of heart.

Then just as quickly the Swamp Rabbits score again to make this a 2-0 Rabbits as Carter Souch gets the score at the 6-minute mark. The Rabbits are now up 2-0 and look to put this game out of hand yet the Ghost Pirates score 2 straight to ties this game.

The Swamp Rabbits before time expires in the second get a score and its 3-2, and while as soon as the Ghost Pirates get the puck they go down and get a quick score and we are tied once again at 3-3 as this game looks like Friday with quick scores between the two teams. With under 4 minutes to go Josh McKechney gets a goal and its 4-3 Swamp rabbits as the two teams seem to want to trade goals. As they end the second its 4-3 Swamp Rabbits over the Ghost Pirates and we head to the third period.

The third is a battle as both teams head into the 7-minute mark with lots of shots on goal but nobody scores yet as its down now to 4 minutes left with the Swamp Rabbits still in the lead trying to hold onto a lead and a two straight victory and a shot at sole possession of 2nd place in the playoff standings heading into a battle in Atlanta next. There is a lot of shots on goal and it’s a 6 on 5 with less than 2 minutes to go as the Pirates pull the goalie to gain the man advantage, and its open net for the Swamp Rabbits if they can get the puck. two straight icing on Greenville giving the Ghost Pirates a chance in the Rabbits, and the Ghost Pirates get a score to tie the game with just over a minute left to play in the game.
Savannah ties it with 1:25 left.

The Swamp Rabbits need to get a score quick to get a win but, we are headed to overtime in Savannah as the 4-4 and we are playing 7 minutes of 3 on 3 hockey, unless a goal is scored. We start off with a broken stick, so small delay, now with 5 minutes to go Rabbits have a chance in the Pirates side, next goal wins it but instead we have allot of back and forth between the two teams going hard to get the win. With now less than a minute to go David Hrenak has made some great saves, and we end the game with a shootout to see who wins the game, best of 3 as the goaltenders will show who can handle the best shooters from each team. Rabbits are 2-0 in Shoot outs this year, we will see now who wins.
