Swamp Rabbits start their playoff hopes run tonight vs. the Savannah Ghost Pirates and the game gets off to a bang with Greenville scoring first and we are at 1-0 5 minutes into the game.

The Ghost Pirates fight back and get another goal to get the game tied at 2-2 and it’s easy to see that even though they have several guys out injured, they want this win vs. the Rabbits. As the first period ends its a 2-2 tie with the Ghost Pirates getting 10 shots on goal to the Rabbits 8. It’s clear the Rabbits will need to come out in the second period with a presence to win this game.

Both teams come out knocking each other around, lots of near fights break out as at the 5:45 mark no scores but lots of shots on each other and the goals. Greenville has had the puck all over the Pirates goal area but has yet to have a score.

With less than 5 minutes left in the second period the game is more about miss opportunities on both sides but with less than a minute left the Ghost Pirates get a goal and now Greenville is behind 2-3 with 17 seconds left before the end of the period.

Period 3
It’s down to the final period for Greenville to battle back and get a win to stay in the top of the playoff hunt. The Rabbits get a goal at the 14:51 mark by #18 Carter Souch then get another one at the 14:02 mark by #77 Brannon McManus assist by #29 Justin Nachbaur. Now the fans are in the groove again and cheering loud for the Swamp Rabbits! Greenville leading 4-3 now in a matter of a minute two huge goals.

The Ghost Pirates fight back and geta quick goal also and its tied just like that as we will have a battle to the end. Ross Armour #19 hits the shot in with a assist by #7 Brandon Estes. Now with 12 minutes left they are battling for this win. The goal is hit again, and we have a shot out going on at the WELL tonight as the score is 5-4 Greenville Swamp Rabbits in the lead with a goal by #29 Justin Nachbaur at the 10:05 mark. We are now down to the final minute left in the game with the Swamp Rabbits leading 5-4. The fans are standing and cheering on their Rabbits to get the win. The goalie is pulled at the Rabbits fight to stay alive and get a shot and goal and score a insurance goal on the empty net. So, with 40 seconds left Greenville is ahead thanks to #17 and assist going to #10 and #16. That is, it folks as the Swamp Rabbits win 6-4, with a great turn out, the Rabbits leave them happy.
