The third period is set to be a great half of basketball. Dorman is in the lead 27-21 as Lexington is staying in the game with defense and timely baskets. The game starts with Dorman getting the ball needing to hold on to the lead to win this game. Shots are going in as Dorman extends its lead to 34-24 with just over 5 minutes left in the third period. Lexington keeps shooting itself in the foot with travels and lose balls out of bounds. Dorman gets a foul and gets the shot in and its 36-24 with another steal and a three its 39-24, but Lexington gets a shot in to try and keep itself in the game. Lexington gets two huge shots in and its 39-31, the Lexington team will not go away without a fight, but then commits a technical foul and Dorman gets one in and its 40-31 with the ball. After a trade in shots its 43-33 with just over a minute to go. The 3rd period ends with Dorman ahead by 10 points 43-33.

The last period has arrived as these teams have given everyone a great game. Dorman gets to the foul line after a Lexington score and its 45-37 with 5:28 left in the game. Another steal by Dorman and the coach quickly calls timeout. Under four minutes to play and its 46-39 and Lexington is trying to rally back. Yet, another foul and Dorman is making them pay with the score 48-41 with under 3 minutes now to the end. Lexington gets a score and a time out now 48-43 to play.

Under two minutes left and it’s another foul and Dorman to the line and the first one is in, second one up and it’s in, 50-43 with Lexington pushing the ball in to get a quick score but Dorman keeps them out of the paint. Foul on Dorman and Lexington gets to the line now, the first free throw is in, the second is in and Lexington is only down 5 with a minute to go. Another Lexington foul as they seem content to make Dorman win it on the line, and Dorman answers with the first one in, misses second and a steal to get another score, but Lexington answers with a huge score its 53-48 with 58 seconds left to play and calls a timeout. Dorman gets the ball and is quickly fouled, gets the shot, sinks the first, and now the second, 55-48 with 50 seconds left to play. Timeout with 40 seconds by Dorman to draw up the play to keep the win, Lexington has never given up this whole time, showing a true winners spirit. Lexington fouls coming out of the timeout and once again send Dorman to the foul line. 57-50 with 35 seconds left. It’s going to be a fast break for Lexington with the foul, and two shots allowed. They miss the first, the second one is up and misses with the ball going out of bounds on Lexington. Dorman scores with 10 seconds and this game is pretty much over as Lexington calls a time out 59-52. The game is over, Dorman wins the game and is your Upper State 5A Champions!
