These AEW Dynamite results are from this week’s show in Orlando, Florida.
AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF
The show opened with Tony Schvione calling the AEW World Heavyweight Champion, MJF, to the ring for an interview/promo segment. He was tearing into Schvione and the audience before being interrupted by Brody King. It’s nice to see him in something besides a squash match.
MJF declined the title-shot request, advising King to beat some real talent to deserve it. It’s a valid point, but it highlights the poor booking even further.
Dynamite Results – Bailey Vs. Joe
Samoa Joe versus “Speedball” Mike Bailey was the first match of the evening. This is fallout from The Opps dropping the trios title to “Hangman” Adam Page and JetSpeed.
This was physical from the start. Both men were laying the strikes in a stiff back-and-forth affair early on. The Opps eventually came to provide outside interference, letting Joe gain momentum. After a babyface comeback, Bailey had a near-fall over Joe, which the Samoan sold perfectly at 2.99.
Joe received further assistance from The Opps to regain control. Despite a good effort, Bailey was pinned after a muscle buster.
AEW Dynamite Results – Deathriders Vs. Don Callis Family
The next contest had Deathriders versus The Don Callis Family in a trios street fight. Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia for Deathriders, with Lance Archer, Hechicero, and Rocky Romero for the family.
The Don Callis Family blasted Yuta through an announcer’s table early, taking him out of action. “The Problem” Marina Shafir got involved to help Deathriders gain control.
Things took a scary turn when Moxley pulled out barbed wire and broken glass. To his demise, Archer ended up chokeslamming him onto the same weapon he introduced. Deathriders ultimately had more factionmates available that weren’t in the match, leading to their victory.
AEW Debut
Alec Price and Jordan Oliver made their Dynamite debut against the steep test of FTR. It was nice of AEW to not force them into a squash match. The young team had moments of control with the opportunity to showcase their high-flying movesets.
FTR gave them their shine, but they also welcomed the young stars to the show with some stiff potatoes. The Shatter Machine would put the debuting stars away.
Dynamite Results – Kenny Omega Vs. Josh Alexander
Kenny Omega and “The Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander were in a battle of Canadians in the next match. During Omega’s entrance, Alexander rushed him from behind, starting a brawl ringside before the bell could even ring, but it eventually got started.
Alexander continues to prove to be one of the most underrated in the business. His moveset, strength, and ring iq are all elite. Perhaps lacking the pace and high-flying moves of Omega, the pairing made a physical match with slick reversals. A One-Winged Angel gave the babyface a pinfall victory.
Dynamite Results – Timeless Love Bombs Vs. Bayne & Ford
Timeless Love Bombs (Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm) had a tag match against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. It was a relatively physical back-and-forth match until Shafir appeared to choke out Storm. This led to Bayne obtaining the pinfall victory.
Dynamite Results – Swerve Strickland Vs. Kevin Knight
The main event of the evening featured Swerve Strickland and Kevin Knight in singles action. They had great chemistry, keeping the pace quick while using smooth reversals and unique movesets. Knight did well to advertise his skills in a big moment for him, but Strickland was always going to win this match.
