Swerve Strickland and Adam Page stare off The Opps to end AEW Full Gear - Credit AEW
AEW Full Gear 2025 had stacked storylines, blood, and championship matches. Here are the stories behind every title change from the card.
Ricochet Wins Inaugural AEW National Championship Via Casino Gauntlet Match
After The Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley opened the match, Ricochet was the third. That’s not to say the match was short or boring; there was plenty to come. It had intrigue, interference, and physicality. The Gates of Agony aided their faction-mate’s early success, as he survived threw the meat of the match, fighting with the Deathriders and others. He found a way to come in at the most opportune time at the end of the match. The GOA were clearly ecstatic, but the round was mute.
Brodido Drops AEW World Tag Team Titles To FTR At Full Gear – Classic Tag
The unexpected pairing of Bandido and Brody King has been a massive success, and they have more than lived up to the opportunity. FTR is now under manager Big Stock, and they appear to be in line for a run. The match itself was tag team wrestling at its finest. The false finishes were so believable, and they went both ways. The crowd sure thought the babyfaces would overcome, as the building gave no pop for your new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Kyle Fletcher Drops TNT Title To Mark Briscoe At Full Gear – No DQ
This match is in contention for best of the night. It was the perfect combination of technical wrestling with bloody warfare. Both Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe took their bumps, including massive table and ladder spots, along with thumb tacs, plus much more. Jay Briscoe lives on in Mark’s moveset, popularity jump, on his sleeve, and in his heart. Fletcher has been a great champion, while also improving his physical and verbal aspects of the game.
Adam Page Drops World Heavyweight Championship To Samoe Joe – Steel Cage Match

Samoa Joe may have bled too deeply early on, as it was a bloody show from there on out. The Opps ended up breaking into the cage, resulting in a knocked-out referee, and his faction with the newly rejoined Hook laid the beat down on Hangman.

New Champs At AEW Full Gear In Conclusion
It’s safe to say these athletes gave their all on that evening. Joe’s next challenger was made clear before the end of the PPV, when Swerve Strickland took his time making it to the ring. The new champion seems to enjoy spitting the runny blood out of his mouth while waiting. Briscoe will likely get a short but entertaining run as TNT Champion, while Fletcher could be ready for the world title. It’s difficult to predict the future for the inaugural AEW National Champion, Ricochet. They’ve announced previously that it would be represented cross-pomotionally, so the choices are worldwide.
