Gabe Kidd opened this episode of AEW Dynamite on a hunt for Darby Allin, who was happy to oblige; the two brawling within moments. Wheeler Yuta came to help the kid, but it wasn’t enough to stop Allin, who pulled out the skateboard full of thumbtacks. Wheeler took the tacs to the spine, which drew Jon Moxley to the ring. This is when The Opps stormed the ring and the random street fight grew even further. It cut to the parking lot where Darby and Kidd were into it. Gabe ended up in a body bag tied to a truck, and drove off into the distance. It was a wild segment, but felt random and unplanned.
AEW Championship Storylines
The first match of the night featured Mercedes Mone defending the TBS Championship against Alex Windsor. It was hard to determine the tackiest part of her this evening – the creative control, the hair, or the outfit. It may also be the fact she carries ceremonial title’s around like they mean something more than they do. The challenger had a few powerful and impressive, but everybody knew the winner before it started. After the match…
The next segment was an in-ring promo from Mark Briscoe. He announced his intentions of taking the TNT Championship from Kyle Fletcher, but Don Callis said he would need to beat Takeshita on Collision later this week. Briscoe accepted, but asked him to send a challenger for tonight, as he was ready for a brawl. Lance Archer answered the challenge, and the match was on. Mark took a chokeslam onto the steel stairs, which were flipped on its side, to send the segment into a commercial break. After the break, Briscoe started to mount a comeback. The match didn’t go long enough to make it seem like enough damage, but he pinned The Murderhawk Monster just seconds later.
Next up, Brodido defended their newly acquired Tag Team Championship against Yuta and Claudio Castignoli. Physical matches ensued among all men involved as chaos broke out on the outside. The champs, with Allin, fended off all of the Deathriders to retain.
Legands & All-Stars
Reeking of desperation, Cope is known again as “The Rated-R Superstar” Adam Copeland. He came to the ring but was jumped by FTR immediatley. He was taking boots in the corner when Christian Cage came to aid his newly acquired ally. The two teams have been building up in hype of their upcoming match.
The main event was an All-Star tag team match featuring The Young Bucks and The Don Callis Family taking on JetSpeed with Kenny Omega and Adam Page. In an exciting main-event, The Don Callis Family ended up with the pin. The beat down continued after the bell, including putting Omega in a neck brace.
