The Atlanta Braves have a chance to win the series today against the Phillies, the number one team in the NL East. Every time I think the Braves could possibly turn the corner and go on a win streak, they prove me wrong. The Braves most consistent quality this season is being inconsistent. It is one of those things in baseball that is inexplicable. This roster has talent and should not be at thirty-eight wins and forty-four losses.
2025 Braves Standings and Record: Regular Season | Atlanta Braves
In order for the Braves to make a miraculous run to the playoffs, they need to be winning at least seven out of every ten games. As of now they have eighty games left so if they were to win seventy percent of their remaining games, that would put them at ninety-four wins and sixty-eight losses. This record would likely be strong enough to make a wild card spot, but it also would depend on what the other teams in the NL ended up doing. Can the Braves make a run to the playoffs? Can they win seventy percent of their remaining games? I don’t know that they can, but I will be rooting for them to do so.
As you can see in the above lineup for today’s game, Spencer Strider will be the starting pitcher who I think will give the Braves a quality start. Can the Braves give him enough run support? Pitching has been an issue for the Braves this year with blown leads from the bullpen, but also inconsistent bats have plagued the pitchers from having enough run support as well. The Braves are likely going to make at least one move or two before the trade deadline, but they need to make something happen sooner than later or this season will slip away for good soon. What trade do you want to see the Braves make? Can they turn this season around and make the playoffs?
