The Kentucky Blue/White Game had a NIL Club Blue facelift on Friday night. It was held at the newly renovated Historic Memorial Coliseum for a more intimate fan experience and included both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Coach Kenny Brooks has brought an All-American PG (Georgia Amoore) and a new excitement surrounding the team.

The event began with the Kentucky Women’s Basketball team introductions and fanfare. Coach Brooks has assembled a men’s practice team for his girls to go against in practice every day and the blue team was the Kentucky WBB team, and the White team was his men’s practice team.
Here are four big things we are learning about the 22nd ranked Wildcats in their 43-29 win as the season rapidly approaches.
- Georgia Amoore is not only good but has some moves as well.
The All-American PG Amoore had a few drives and finishes that wore crowd pleasing. But she also has a move that is lethal. Georgia flashed her crossover, jab step, step-back jump-shot on a couple of occasions with some crowd gasps and leaving her defender stumbling to recover. She finished with six points and three assist in only seven minutes of play.

2. The Starters seem set at least in the beginning of the season.
On a couple of different occasions Coach Brooks seems to like Georgia Amoore, Dazia Lawrence, Amelia Hassett, Teonni Key, and Clara Strack. He began the short scrimmage Friday night with this lineup. The women do not play again till the season opener at home on November 4th against South Carolina Upstate. They have about 2 weeks of practices before the season begins but I would expect this to be the starting lineup as of now. Unless of course someone makes a big move in practice before then.
3. The “Bigs” are going to be productive leaders on this team.
6’5” Clara Strack, 6’7” Clara Silvia, 6’4” Teonni Key led the night with eight points each. Each one was impressive with their post moves and buckets around the basket. The scrimmage was only around 15 minutes of game time, but Amoore and Rowe were both feeding the post and with good reason. Strong finishes and good footwork were a common theme amongst all three.

4. Cassidy Rowe and Saniah Tyler are both leaders of the second unit.
Cassidy Rowe shot with confidence and knocked down 5 points in eight minutes of play. Saniah Tyler had no hesitation coming off of a screen to bury a three pointer. The only two returnees from last year’s team are carving out their role and will be a huge team benefit. The guard tandem will be key members of bench production and leaders on this team with their SEC experience.
