The Furman Paladins Men’s basketball squad played host to the Wofford Terriers in Saturday afternoon Southern Conference action in Timmons Arena in Greenville, SC.
With only two games left in the regular season, the Paladins (16-13, 10-6) currently sit at 4th place in the SoCon while the Terriers (15-14, 8-8) come in at 6th.
Despite the fairly middle of the road records for both teams, once the calendar is officially flipped over to March, anything can happen.
The Paladins, buoyed by the support of their home crowd, controlled the game for the majority of its duration, winning by the comfortable margin of 82-67 after not trailing in the 2nd half.
JP Pegues led the Paladins with 21 points, keeping his hot shooting alive heading into the month that made him famous a year ago. Marcus Foster finished just behind Pegues in scoring with 20 points and 8 rebound of his own. Pjay Smith contributed 13 points on an efficient 4/6 shooting afternoon from beyond the three point arc.
Three Terriers cracked the double digit mark, as Dillon Bailey, Jackson Sivills, and Chase Cormier each scored 11 points.
The Paladins will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to face Western Carolina, before returning home for Senior Night and their final game of the regular season against Mercer on Saturday.
