AEW Dynamite from Glasgow, Scotland, this week was the final episode before the All In PPV this Sunday.
Will Ospreay Promo: AEW Dynamite
The show opened with “The Ariel Assassin” Will Ospreay coming to the ring to promo his upcoming title match against AEW World Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega. after pandering to the UK crowd with a history lesson, he’d finally address Omega; however, this too, was filler. Outside of being angry over bringing his son into things, it was pointless.
Jon Moxley Vs. Claudio Castagnoli: Continental Classic Cup
AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli, fellow Death Riders, faced off in the semifinals of the AEW Continental Challenge Cup. This match started with some classic chain wrestling and mat work, until Castagnoli launched Moxley into the barricade. There was a physical back-and-forth from there, including near falls after both guys hit their finisher. The champ ultimately picked up the win to advance to the finals, and essentially defend the strap.
Adam Copeland & The Young Bucks Vs. The Don Callis Family: AEW Dynamite
One-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Adam Copeland, and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) had a trios match again the Don Callis Family (Rocky Romero, Brian Cage, and Jake Doyle). The champs will defend those titles against Matt and Nick this Sunday, at All In.
Good luck keeping track of the legal man in this wild one, but Copeland picked up the pinfall victory over Romero, after hitting a spear. His partner, Christian Cage had a mic at the top of the entrance ramp post-match, and was not fond of The Young Bucks. Cage came to the ring to deliver a low-blow, so Copeland followed suit, hitting a spear on the other Jackson.
Andrade & MJF: Casino Gauntlet Match
Andrade El Idolo interrupted MJF’s promo ahead of the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In on this episode of AEW Dynamite. This was another shallow promo, with Andrade ending up on top.
Kyle O’Reilly Vs. Nigel McGuinness: Continental Classic Cup
The other semifinal in the AEW Continental Challenge Cup featured Kyle O’Reilly and Nigel McGuinness. This was largely a technical, mat based contest, as McGuinness worked a leg injury from his earlier match is the tournament. Credit to them for fooling the crowd into assuming that’d be his downfall, when it was actually him who won via submission.
Maya World & The Brawling Birds Vs. Divine Dominion & Persephone: AEW Dynamite
The next match was a trios match: Maya World and The Brawling Birds vs. Divine Dominion and Persephone. AEW continues to push World, but she truly looks out of place compared to her billed competition. Persephone ultimately hit her with her own TBS Championship to pick up the victory for her team.
Swerve Strickland Vs. Jack Perry: AEW Dynamite
The main event was Swerve Strickland vs. “Jungle” Jack Perry. Strickland truly brought the pain to Perry as Jungle Boy failed to deliver the promised intensity and lost the the House Call to end AEW Dynamite.
