ACC Kickoff
The ACC Kickoff started off Wednesday with Commissioner Jim Phillips giving the Media the news and notes from Spring till now, so let’s dive into it really quick as we get ready for Day 2.
1. The ACC will start a new tie breaker system that will strength of schedule, head-to-head and other metrics that they did in simulations during the summer. The ACC seems to be making sure they don’t have a issue like they averted last year when Miami almost got left out of the CFP playoff.
2. He also listed the number of trophies the conference won and how it dominated many sports and won more titles than any other conference. The strength of schedule of the ACC in football is stronger than any other conference. He also talked a little about the money generated and new marketing director for the conference to help them generate a better growing model for the future.
3. He then went into the bill in congress to help save college athletics. The reason behind it and the many things that are still being done to make the bill pass as there is much to be compromised to help it pass. He will have a upward battle with both the Big10 and SEC against the bill but says he fills they will hopefully come together to pass it or he doesn’t want to see where college football goes if it isn’t passed.
The day shifted to the Coaches and players as Miami was first on the stage:
We then turned to FSU Seminoles with an interesting Q&A:
Stanford took to the stage after the Seminoles and its new Coach:
N.C. State and what some called a Pep Rally Q&A as Dave has rallied his troops with C.J. Bailey leading:
