Nick Comoroto Vs. Hook – ROH Recap
Nick Comoroto challenged Hook to open Ring of Honor this week. Comoroto, the much bigger man, was denied his Code of Honor request.
The visual of Hook beating up on this man didn’t make sense. For those unfamiliar with Comoroto, think a caveman on steroids.
Comoroto did battle for an actual back-and-forth, but there were too many things that made wrestling look bad. Hook went on to win via submission.
Premiere Athletes – ROH Results
Keagan Garland, LJ Cleary, and Aaron Dallas teamed up to challenge The Premiere Athletes (Arya Devari, Tony Neese, and Beef). This was a glorified squash match, with the main purpose seemingly to continue Beef’s initiation into the group.
Renegrade & Adora Vs. World & Hyan
Robyn Renegrade and Trish Adora took on Maya World and Hyan in tag action. Hyan stood out from the rest, with the best strength, moveset, and reversals of the match. World pinned Renegrade after hitting a Shining Wizard.
Action Andretti Vs. Alex Reynolds – ROH Results
Action Andretti vs. Alex Reynolds was next. Andretti refused the code of honor and rushed Reynolds immediately upon the bell, taking early control of the match.
Reynolds managed some offense, but it was short-lived. Andretti picked up the victory and attacked his opponent post-match. ROH Television Champion “Blackheart” Lio Rush came to his aid.
Kiran Grey Vs. Anthony Ogogo – ROH Results
Next up, Kiran Grey vs. Anthony Ogogo, accompanied by Shane Taylor. This was another glorified squash match. Ogogo won via referee stoppage, after one-punching Grey out cold.
Cassie Lee Vs. Zayda Steel – ROH Results
Cassie Lee, accompanied by Jessie McKay, vs. Zayda Steel, accompanied by Christopher Daniels and ROH Women’s Television Champion Red Velvet, was next. There was a nice back-and-forth, but it was too soft and lacked a believable false finish. Steel was one finisher to a finish.
ROH World Tag Team Championship Match – Guevara & Mortos Vs. El Sky Team
ROH World Tag Team Champions Sami Guevara and The Beast Mortos defending the belts in Mexico, in front of a CMLL crowd, against El Sky Team (Mascara Dorada and Mistico). This was slow and drawn out, with relatively low amounts of high-flying and strength.
The match certainly had some wild high spots, but it didn’t deliver as expected. Mistico forced Mortos to tap out, allowing Sky Team to become the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.
