This AEW Dynamite recap was the go-home show for Revolution this Sunday. The action was hot from San Jose, California.
AEW Dynamite Recap – Deathriders Vs. Don Callis Family
Deathriders (CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley) versus The Don Callis Family (Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero) opened Dynamite with a tag team match. Hechicero and Castagnoli opened the match with some of the best chain wrestling that fans could ask for. Not only that, they kept it intense and physical. Takeshita and Moxley followed up with more of the same.
After the teams beat the life out of each other, the Deathriders won with a simple, small package roll-up. The Don Callis Family jumped the victorious after the bell, but Takeshita wants to face Moxley at full health. They face off for the Continental Championship at Revolution.
AEW Dynamite Recap – Kyle Fletcher Vs. Mike Bailey
“Protostar” Kyle Fletcher defended the AEW TNT Championship against “Speedball” Mike Bailey. This was another banger, as the talent really pushed the pace on this go-home show. The physicality and reversals in this match were all-worldly. At one point, even the most seasoned wrestling fan thought there was a new champion. Entertaining false finishes ultimately led to the retention.
Brody King & Swerve Strickland
Brody King is once again being booked in squash matches. This one didn’t hit ten seconds against the always-popular “already in the ring.” Swerve Strickland attacked King after the match. The two have an upcoming match at Revolution. King fought back to take control of the segment.
AEW Dynamite Recap – Orange & Darby Vs. The Dogs
“Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy and Darby Allin teamed up to challenge The Dogs (David Finlay and Gabe Kidd). The Dogs beat the living hell out of their opponents, and it included after the bell. Roderick Strong seemed to be joining the heels, but pulled a quick one to fight them off to end the segment and aid the babyfaces.
TBS Championship Match
The TBS Championship was on the line when Persephone challenged Willow Nightingale. Persephone looked sharp in the loss. Her strength and reversals stood out.
Main Event
The main event of Dynamite this week was Mark Briscoe and the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) challenging FTR and Tomasso Ciampa in trios action. The Bucks got things started quickly, hitting their opponents with a suicide dive to the outside during the introduction. Once things officially started, it was a physical, back-and-forth affair. Ciampa pinned Briscoe for the finish.
