The Deacs (15-2, 2-0 ACC) extended their home winning streak to a stellar 39 matches dating back to April of 2024. Since 2013, Wake Forest leads the nation in home wins with 235 and ranks second during that span in total wins with 371. Additionally, Wake Forest has now won 17-consecutive ACC regular season matches following a flawless run last year and has now won 118 conference victories since the start of the 2013 campaign.

The Deacs continued their strong play in doubles throughout the day, having now won the opening point 14 times this spring. Mees Rottgering and Kacper Szymkowiak played together for the second and third times this year during Sunday, now 2-0 as a pair.

Competing as the team leader in singles this spring, sophomore Joaquin Guilleme moved to 12-1 during Sunday. For the second consecutive contest, he clinched the Deacs’ match point, doing so versus Georgia Tech. He now stands at an exceptional 21-1 overall mark in collegiate dual matches.

Junior Luca Pow wrapped his impressive weekend with solo wins over Georgia Tech’s Jonathan Irwanto (6-1, 6-2) and SC State’s Novak Novakovic (6-3, 6-4). The ranked Deac now holds a 10-3 singles record this spring and has pieced together 167 combined singles and doubles wins over the last three years – the most out of any active Wake Forest player. He joins Guilleme as one of two Demon Deacons with double-digit solo wins for the year so far.

On court one, senior star DK Suresh Ekambaram, the No. 17-ranked player in the nation, picked up his second singles win of his 2026 spring campaign as he downed SC State’s Mikalai Bankou, 7-6, 6-0. This marked his 64th singles victory in a Wake Forest uniform and 39th in dual match play as he continues to cement himself as one of the all-time Demon Deacons.

In his second-career ACC dual match, redshirt sophomore Andrew Delgado secured a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Georgia Tech’s Robert Baur on court six. He is now 4-0 overall in singles dual matches and 9-0 in doubles.

Playing in his fourth singles match this season, Cornelius Shalmi only dropped three total games in a dominant straight-sets showing (6-2, 6-1) over Vanja Petrov of SC State. The Deacs have now won five matchups over Georgia Tech tracing back to the 2023 campaign. Against SC State, Wake Forest improved to 6-0 in the all-time series.

From Coach Bresky
“Another good day – it was awesome to get outside and have a great crowd again. To get another 4-0 win over an ACC team was very good. Then, we followed up in the afternoon with another match to get some guys some more outdoor tennis. I love where we are at. Obviously, now we have to get ready to hit the road for some ACC matches, which is always challenging. We’re excited to keep testing ourselves against some really good team.” – Head coach Tony Bresky

Up Next
The Demon Deacons will now travel to Florida for a pair of matches against Miami (March 6) and Florida State (Match 8)
