Dynamite Results – Jon Moxley Vs. Mark Davis
The opening match of the evening saw AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley taking on Mark Davis in an eliminator match. If successful, Davis would get a shot at the title. Both men brought intensity and physicality. Moxley saw his opponent’s hand was shoot bleeding, and pulled some gruesome heel antics on it – stomps, bites, etc. It could have used a false finish or two, but otherwise great. The champion retained via tapout.
FTR & The Young Bucks
FTR is on a hot heel run as AEW Tag Team Champions with manager Big Stoke. The result of their promo was a title match against The Young Bucks at Revolution. Not to mention the champs were hit with surprise superkicks.
Dynamite Results – AEW TBS Championship Fatal Four Way
The next match featured Willow Nightingale, Megan Bayne, Mina Shirakawa, and Marina Shafir fighting over Nightingale’s TBS Championship. Bayne and Shafir teams up for chunks of this match, largely against the current champion.
Shirakawa tried to take advantage of the weakened Nightingale, but she reversed the submission into a rollup pin for the win.
MJF & Hangman
MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page had an in-ring promo in advance of their upcoming title match. Page put it all on the line by offering to never challenge for the AEW Heavyweight Champion in a Texas Death Match.
Dynamite Results – Tag Team Matches
Tomohiro Ishii and Orange Cassidy versus Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd was next. Another match with maximum physicality, but still lacking believable false finishes. Darby Allin hit Kidd with a surprise attack to give the babyfaces the advantage and the win.
The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) versus the “already in the ring” Becca and Viva Van was next. In a rare feat, the underdog team was given time for both members to shine. It was, of course, short-lived.
Dynamite Results – Kevin Knight Vs. The Beast Mortos
One-third of the AEW Trios Champions, “The Jet” Kevin Knight, had a match with One-half of the ROH Tag Team Champions, The Beast Mortos. AEW is pushing JetSpeed, but Knight truly looked worse for wear after the victory.
Dynamite Results – Swerve Strickland Vs. Kenny Omega
The main event was Swerve Strickland versus Kenny Omega, a main event for any PPV. The spots were certainly athletic and entertaining, but it seemed they were too worried about those than the pace and finer points of wrestling. The finish saw Strickland use the referee as a shield, leading to a pin without anybody to make the count.
By the time another official was sent to the ring, Omega regained enough strength to kick out. Swerve hit another finisher to pick up the victory. He also seemed to take a harsh heel turn after the win, attacking his downed opponent and the new referee. It didn’t end there, as the loser was slammed through the announce table to end the show.
In Conclusion
Overall, these AEW Dynamite results were from a relatively physical and entertaining episode. All roads lead to Revolution in March.
