These AEW Collision results are from the most recent episode in Las Vegas, Nevada. Storylines are further developing as Grand Slam Australia grows ever nearer.
Collision Results – Tag Title Picture
The Young Bucks and Gates of Agony opened Collision with a tag team match. The match was relatively soft, and the boredom led to zero believable false finishes. The Bucks won to gain a spot in the AEW Tag Team Championship number one contender match.
AEW Women’s World Championship
Renee Paquette called AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander to the ring to choose the stipulation for her title match against Thekla next week. The Sisters of Sin and the challenger blindsided the champ in the ring. She’d be held down and whipped senseless with her belt.
The segment appeared over when Statlander finally came to. She announced the stipulation – a strap match.
Collision Results – Boring Filler
Scorpio Sky versus “The Jet” Kevin Knight was the next contest. This one lacked a certain level of intensity. It also felt hard to invest in it, as it felt pointless. Knight picked up the victory.
Mina Shirakawa versus Viva Van was the next match. Not a squash match, but pretty dang close. Shirakawa won via tap out.
Collision Results – Tag Action
Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir represented Deathriders in a mixed tag match against Zayda Steel and Dante Martin. Deathriders were largely dominant ahead of their upcoming mixed tag match at Grand Slam Australia against Orange Cassidy and Toni Storm. Whoever takes the pin in that match will have their head shaved.
Thekla, versus the already in the ring, Brittnie Brooks, followed. This match was three moves long. The Sisters of Sins joined her to beat her after the bell.
Next up was a four-on-four parking lot brawl. The Grizzled Young Veterans, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith teamed up to fight Eddie Kingston, The Rascalz, and Ortiz. They certainly took their bumps, but the street fight aspect was largely theatrical. Kingston ended the match with a DDT on the top of a car.
Main Event
The main event was a triple threat for the TNT Championship between Claudio Castagnoli, Roderick Strong, and the defending Thomasso Chiampa. These guys saved the show with great physicality, pace, and reversals. Castagnoli also reminded fans that he may be the strongest pound-for-pound wrestler in the game. Champia retained his recent title acquisition before being joined by former TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher. The two will face off for the title next on Dynamite.
In Conclusion
Grand Slam Australia is on Valentine’s Day. Find a loved one and cuddle up for some violence.
