Dynamite Results – Tag Action Kicks Off Show
The first match of the evening was a trios match featuring the Deathriders and Don Callis Family. This match lacked real intrigue. These guys always go hard, but it just wasn’t their best showing this night. The Don Callis Family picked up the victory, as Konosuke Takeshita eyes Jon Moxley’s title.
The next match was a mixed-tag match featuring “Timeless” Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy, featuring two unknowns already in the ring. It seems squash matches are even ok mixed matches. Even Storm’s move set is just a gimmick at this point.
Dynamite Results – Adam Page Vs. Mark Davis
“Hangman” Adam Page versus Mark Davis was next. This match added to the intrigue in this episode. They were laying it in thick with smooth reversals and even some high spots. Page ultimately picked up the victory after hitting his Buckshot finisher.
Championship Storylines
Kenny Omega and Andrade El Idolo faced off in the next contest. They did their job in maintaining realistic wrestling, with great striking and reversals. In an attempt to stop Andrade from using the screwdriver, Swerve Strickland did more harm than good. One low-blow and finisher later, El Idolo advances to the number one contender’s match with Page.
“Jungle” Jack Perry has an opportunity at Ricochet and his AEW National Championship. Perry jumped him during the introductions to get things started swiftly. That was the end of the challenger’s control for an extended period, as the champ battled back and was dominant.
The main event was one overdue for the challenger. If successful in this eliminator match, Brody King would get a title shot for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship against MJF. Page caused a distraction at the beginning of the match, giving control to King early. It took just two or three moves for him to get the pinfall.
In Conclusion
Hopefully, they give King a full twenty minutes to put on a good match with MJF. The matches were hit or miss this evening, but the path to Grand Slam Australia is becoming clear.
