Spartans Whallop Bruins, Score 114
The UNCG Spartans took down the Carolina Bruins at home by a score of 114-35. The Spartans jumped out to an early lead, and it never really got close after that. UNCG held a 58-19 lead coming out of halftime, but came out flat to start the 3rd quarter.
Despite the slow start to the 2nd half, the Spartans managed to put this one to bed with relative ease. UNCG hit the 100 point mark with 7:18 remaining in the 4th quarter. Eight players, including all five starters, scored in double figures. Minor led the way with 17, Levine had 14, Johnson had 13, and Asidanya and Moffit had 12 each.
As a team, the Spartans shot 56% from the field, 44% from three, and 90% from the free throw line. UNCG outrebounded the Bruins with an absurd 60-14 mark. The numbers don’t get much better for the Bruins. As a team, Carolina shot 24% from the field, 25% from three, and 75% from the line. This was the most dominant whistle-to-whistle performance I have seen in college basketball so far this season.

The Spartans move to 8-5 this season with just one more game left before starting SoCon play. Up next, Coach Patterson leads the Spartans against the Livingstone Blue Bears out of the CIAA in the friendly confines of Bodford Arena. The Blue Bears are 1-10 so far this season, with their lone win coming over, oddly enough, the Carolina University Bruins.
