O’Neil converted 7-of-10 shots from the field and the same from the free throw line for her 22 points, which she combined with seven rebounds, four blocks, four assists, and three assists in 33 minutes of action to lead Florida, which took advantage of 26 Furman turnovers to post a 33-11 scoring differential off miscues. Furman was paced by Jacksonville, Fla., native Clare Coyle, who tallied 20 points, and by Alyssa Ervin’s 18-point performance.

Ervin’s second 3-pointer of the contest, with 3:26 to go in the third quarter, pulled Furman to within 51-48, but the Gators answered by outscoring the Paladins 10-5 over the remainder of the quarter to take a 61-53 edge into the final period.

Laila Reynolds followed O’Neal in the scoring column with 17 points, and Liv McGill finished with 12 points and Piatti 10 for Florida, which shot 50 percent from the field (32×64), including 10-of-18 in the fourth quarter.
