The Furman Paladins Women’s soccer (8-2-3, 3=0=2 SoCon) roll into Eugene Stone Soccer stadium having at least 12 different Paladins score one goal in the last 13 matches and also on a home winning streak. The ETSU Bucs (8-2-4, 3=0=2 SoCon) come into tonight in first place in the SoCon and wanting to extend its lead with UT Chattanooga already losing earlier to the Citadel.

The first half of play is a scoreless affair as both teams play exceptional defense and shut each other out of the goal. Furman Goalkeeper Reese DeJong had 4 saves with 11 shots on goal in the first half versus ETSU while ETSU had 1 save on their end with 5 shots on goal. During halftime both teams honored Cancer Awareness Night as Furman is also wearing Pink in honor of those with or have been cured.

ETSU is first on the board with 37:36 left in the game they get a goal when #11 Jada Cooper get the ball past Goalkeeper Reese DeJong after an assist by #13 Ruby Teixeira and the Bucs lead 1=0 over the Paladins. The Paladins get the score at the 30:19 left in the match, as #24 Norah Roller gets it in with an assist by #13 Jessica Mattison. Furman has tied the match at 1-1 now and the fans are now really getting into the game. Furman after the score has two chances after two corner kicks but comes up just short.

The match has under 12 minutes left to go and we are still tied 1-1 with both teams with 12 shots on goal as Furman has started to pressure the ETSU side, ETSU has had 4 saves to Furman’s 5 saves so far in the game. Furman has had 9 corner kicks to 3 by ETSU which has helped Furman get in the ETSU goalkeepers face all second half. With a minute to go Furman is trying to get the win with several shots on goal but has yet to reach it and the game is a tie 1-1.
