Raleigh, NC – Thursday Night was another exciting matchup in the ACC at Dail Soccer Park on the campus of NC State University. The Wolfpack (2-1-2) entered the night having drawn or won 5 of their last 6 contests after getting off to a slow start to the season.
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons made the trip east up I-40 looking to prove why they are one of the best teams in the ACC. The Deacons (3-1-1) entered the contest tied for 2nd place in the ACC. The Deacons would find the road tough to travel on as the Wolfpack would strike fast with 2 early goals that the Deacons would not be able to overcome.

Jade Bordeleau would notch 2 quick ones. Her first of the night would come after a Wake Forest yellow card in the box gave Bordeleau the chance to give the Wolfpack an early 1-0 lead. She wasted little time touching the back of the net with a quick strike to the right post. The goal was her 7th on the season.
Bordeleau would waste little time as just over 30 seconds later in the match at 35:57 giving the host Wolfpack a quick 2-0 lead. Bordeleau notched her 8th goal on the season after a Wake Forest turnover led to the quick switch of the field for Demon Deacon defense. A mistake they could ill-afford to make. Bordeleau ripped the net again with the Wake Forest goaltender out of position off the turnover.
The Demon Deacons would respond with just under 2 minutes to go in the first half cutting the lead to 2-1. Elliana Ramirez was able to head one into the back of the net for Wake Forest cutting the deficit in half at the end of the first half.
The second began with fewer fireworks than the first half did as both teams stayed aggressive offensively spending time in each other’s end through the first 25 minutes. The Deacons would come close to netting the tying goal with just over 20 minutes left in the half only to be turned away by goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas.
Jade Bordeleau was the star of the show for the host Wolfpack in the first half, but Pratapas would not be outdone with her star performance of the second half. Pratapas would face 13 total shots on the night allowing just the 1 goal to end the 1st half. Behind the 2 first-half goals from Jade Bordeleau and a great night in net from Pratapas, the Wolfpack would hold on to take down the Demon Deacons at home for the 2-1 upset.
