AEW Dynaite
AEW Dynamite this week was the first after the All Out PPV. Catch up on the fallout and everything else from the show.
AEW Championships
The Gates of Agony had a tag team title match against Brodido in the opening bout. The GOA started the match by dominating the smallest man in the match, Bandido. The challengers even shut down Brody King from the hot tag. The champs had zero momentum until Bandido got a tag of his own. Ricochet would try to slow them, but the champs retained.
Adam Page hosted an open challenge for his AEW World Heavyweight Championship in the next segment. This was answered by the ROH Pure Champion, Lee Moriarty. This was a skilled contest, with both men executing elite reversals at a quick pace. The winner was obviously going to be Hangman, but it was a fantastic match otherwise.
AEW Storylines
Next up, FTR came to the ring for a promo. They were badmouthing Beth Copeland until Willow Nightingale came to defend her honor. JetSpeed would even the odds to put the babyfaces over for the segment.
The Don Callis Family versus The Conglomeration, featuring a mystery partner, was next. That guest was the returning Orange Cassidy. Good pace and reversals, but there’s never too much to dig into with so many people in the match, and fans expected the returning Cassidy to win.
Powerhouse Hobbs versus Claudio Castagnoli was next. These boys started strong, both using stiff and powerful moves early. The recently returned Pac came to the ringside to aid in Castagnoli’s victory. Everything fell apart as The Deathriders, Samoa Joe, and Page appeared.
AEW Dynamite Main Event
After they announced the debut of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, Mina Shirakawa challenged Kris Statlander for her first defense as the AEW Women’s World Champion. The match was lacklustre and not a memorable first defense. The Deathriders decided to join the women’s champion in the ring, who seemed to be joining the faction, or at least, that’s what she made them think. She pulled a quick one over on Wheeler Yuta, flipped off Jon Moxley, and was out of there. Darby Allin showed up with a flamethrower to fend them off.
