#10 Wake Forest Women’s Soccer wins 2-0 over Villanova

The #10 Wake Forest Deamon Deacons Women’s Soccer (3-0-0, 0-0-0 ACC) won yet another non-conference game on Thursday night taking down the Villanova Wildcats (0-2-0) 2-0 in Spry stadium as part of a double header game with the men’s team playing afterwards.

Wake scored the first goal in the first half when Sierra Sythe (1) scored assisted by Kylie Maxwell at the 7:25 mark in the match. That was followed up by Kylie Maxwell (2) getting a goal in the second half at the 46:34 mark assisted by Brooke Miller to make it 2-0 and getting its second shutout of the week.

Wake was able to get 14 shots on goal while Villanova only had 8 for the game. Wake only needed one save to Villanova 2, Nova had 3 corner kicks to Wake’s 1, yet Nova lead in fouls gave with a 8-6 margin. Next up for Wake is at Mississippi State on August 24th at 7:30pm. All games are on the ACC\ESPN networks, and the team returns home on the 28th versus South Florida at 8pm.
