
Furman Women’s Soccer (1-1. 0-0 SoCon) was able to get its first victory of the season Sunday afternoon by defeating Georgia St. of the Sunbelt conference. The Paladins behind Soph Dylan Daniels and Jaleah Simmons who scored for Furman in 33rd and 59th minute of the game.

Tonight was a solid victory for us against a talented Georgia State team,” said Paladin head coach Andrew Burr. “Dylan and Jaleah each scored a nice goal, and our defense did a terrific job down the stretch. We’ll work to recover and get our legs back under us as we prepare for another two-game stretch this week with Bob Jones and Charleston Southern.”

DeJong, who recorded seven saves in the season opener versus South Florida on Thursday, stopped six shots against the Panthers. Anderson totaled two saves for Georgia State in a losing effort.
The Panthers (1-1-0) finished with a 16-8 margin in total shots and 7-4 edge in shots on goal.

Furman (1-1-0) continues its homestand on Friday night when it hosts the Bob Jones Bruins on Seagraves Field at Stone Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will be streamed love on ESPN+.
