Most people could argue that Memorial Day Weekend has the best single day of racing throughout the entire year. F1 kicks off the day at Monaco, IndyCar has the coveted Indy 500, and NASCAR has the nightcap with the Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte, NC. While you may not be a fan of these particular series, I thoroughly enjoyed watching racing all day this past Sunday, May 25.
The Indy 500 was loaded with drama that started before the race even began with McCaughlin wrecking during the warmup laps. Scott Dixon also had some mechanical issues on his car before the race started, but Alex Palou was able to survive the day and come out victorious. Speaking of victorious, Ross Chastain emerged victorious in the Coca-Cola 600 after starting in the last position. It’s the first time a race has been won from last position since the 1960’s, if I remember right. Ross Chastain is the topic of this article and so I wanted to ask, could he go on a win streak after winning at Charlotte?
Some drivers have a tendency to get hot when the weather starts warming up which starts making the tracks a little slicker. Ross Chastain had a very impressive drive in the Coca-Cola 600 starting in last place but finishing in first, something that isn’t very often heard of in NASCAR. I think Trackhouse Racing and Ross Chastain can start turning the corner as we get into the warmer summer months. Not only that, but Ross Chastain won at Nashville last season, which is the track for tomorrow’s race on June 1st. I’m not so sure if Ross can win back-to-back races, but I certainly think we will start seeing more consistent finishes from him in the coming weeks. Only time will tell, but what do you think? Can Ross Chastain win again tomorrow?
