NASCAR has returned to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the All-Star Race and by all accounts, fans loved the race. Christopher Bell escaped with a win after the promoter’s caution happened, but Joey Logano wasn’t happy after losing the lead and ultimately the race. Let’s dive into the events.
The new gimmick added to the NASCAR race this year was the promoter’s caution which had to be thrown before lap 220 of a 250-lap race. As you can see from the video above, Michael Waltrip threw the flag both literally and figuratively. You’re right Michael, at least it wasn’t a taco this time. For once, the track looked like a football field with a yellow flag laying on the playing surface. Joey Logano’s team decided to stay out, while most everyone else came down for 4 fresh tires for the last green flag run. Christopher Bell caught Joey Logano and passed him as cleanly as possible, yet Joey Logano took offense to it and said as much after the race.

In case you can’t click the link above, Christopher Bell was shocked at how Joey Logano responded to his pass. Christopher Bell went on to say that he has seen Joey Logano do far worse things to win a race and couldn’t believe that Joey was frustrated. Afterall, Joey, you and your team decided not to pit basically giving an advantage to Christopher Bell and the rest of the field. At the end of the day, Christopher Bell raced Joey Logano as clean as possible so for Joey to say, “I would have wrecked him if I got back to him” is way out of line in my opinion. So as the title says, Joey Logano was the only one not happy with the All-Star Race this weekend but he really only has himself and team to blame.
At the end of the day though, fans and drivers loved the racing at North Wilkesboro again this year. NASCAR is working its way back into fans good graces by getting back to their “grassroot” tracks like North Wilkesboro and Rockingham. Hopefully, that means the racing will get more entertaining and the fans will begin to come back to the racetrack. For more of my content, please subscribe and like Southern Fried Sports.
